Pearl opened May 23rd 2006 after extensive building renovation/restoration. Chef Q and Holly, husband and wife owners, had a dream for Pearl that is completely different than their neighboring restaurants in the area.
We are a bit historic, a bit French, a bit Asian, a bit eclectic, and a bit Hip all in one.
Chef Q, who received a Zagat guide rating of 24 points for food at his French Bistro in Miami Beach twice - 2001 and 2002, says his talent's in creativity and execution now far exceed those 24 points. Chef Q and staff fillet and butcher all of our fish and meats in house. We do not purchase any (pre)portioned cryovaced anything! Holly, part II of the duo, specializes in wine. Having received her Mastery of Wine from Florida International University, she has selected all styles of wine, sake, and beer to perfectly enhance Pearl's menu. It is her passion, that as you dine on the Chef's creations and sip a favorite drink, that the senses come alive- sight, smell, touch, taste and the lingering finish of a perfect beverage. This is dining at Pearl.
We are proud at Pearl. Proud of our staff, our cuisine and our accomplishments. Early on Pearl received "Best New Restaurant" and "Best Chef" by Elegant Island Living reader's choice. In May 2008, Chef Q and Pearl were featured and pictured in Southern Living magazine as a best Exit off I95. "Chef Q dishes up exquisite French and Asian specialties at this downtown Brunswick spot...." And most recently, December 2008 Jacksonville Florida's Water's Edge magazine featured a lovely article on Pearl titled " This Pearl is rare find". And we are- a rare find.
Our menu changes monthly or whenever Chef Q has a whim (which can be often) and features an eclectic variety of dishes not always limited to French and Asian as Chef Q also studied in Italy and is known to throw in a pasta dish or two as a special of the day.
